It's all in the name

Insurgent

Sequel to Divergent, Insurgent is action packed, exciting and gives you more a wider view of Tris' World. Many believe that Veronica Roth ( the author) creates these words herself, but that isn't the case.

Definition of insurgent (n)

Definition of divergent (adj)

Bing Dictionary
di·ver·gent
 [ di vúrjənt ]
  1. moving apart: following paths or courses that become increasingly different or separate
  2. differing: showing or having differences
  3. not matching something: deviating from something such as a typical pattern or an expressed wish

So, for anyone who knew what these words meant well, you have already given away quite a bit. I think a title can be really interesting, especially when it intertwines with the plot of the book like above. The second book is about Tris trying to repair a broken city with factions rebelling and fighting all around her. To me the second book loses some pace at points but really picks up at others, I think it creates a balanced approach to a dystopian society becoming a bit more dystopian (if you get what I mean, which I am not even sure I do). The tag lines for the books are really insightful as well; Divergent's is 'One choice can transform you' and Insurgent's is 'One choice can destroy you'. I love this tagline as it can mean a different choice to every reader.

The third book in the Divergent trilogy ( it's already over :'( nooo) is called Allegiant.

allegiant (əˈliːdʒənt)

Definitions

noun

  1. a person who displays constancy, duty and faithfulness in particular to a ruling body
I can't wait to see what's in store then! This books tagline is 'One choice will define you'. I need to get my hands on this book and soon. Are there any clever or witty titles in books you've seen? I know it's a good title when I get the 'aaaaahhh' moment at the end. What about you?
